Boomers Will Recognize These Classics From An Era When Cars Were Built To Roar

My uncle has been rebuilding cars since long before I was born. His favorite, a 1970 Monte Carlo SS and, when he had finally finished restoring it guess who was the first out of the six of us to give it a spin?

Driving in this car was like nothing I had ever driven before - the deep rumbling engine, the smooth pickup as that beast of an engine accelerated around corners will forever stay in my mind as one of the coolest memories of my teenage life. Of course, I only took it around the block and drove it as carefully as if I were holding a new born baby, but that was enough for me.

Take a look at these classic muscle cars and get transported back to the days of rumbling, growling engines - the days when the cars we built had muscle and character.
