These Decadent Mint Chocolate Smoothies Are Your New Guilty Pleasure

Print Recipe

Everyone loves the Shamrock shake, but the window when you can actually get one seems like it gets shorter every year. Thankfully, you can make a healthier version at home all year round, in case you ever get a craving.

Yes, that's right, we said these are healthy. They look like a milkshake but these smoothies are full of spinach, Greek yogurt and coconut milk. But of course, there's enough chocolate to make this recipe a real treat.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup coconut milk (from a can)
  • 1/2 cup Greek yogurt (or plain, if you prefer)
  • 1 frozen banana (quartered)
  • 14 frozen spinach cubes
  • 6 large ice cubes
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon honey
  • Chocolate chips

Directions

To make your own spinach cubes, add fresh spinach and water to a blender and finely chop it. Drain the water out in a colander, and pack the spinach into ice cube trays.Once they're frozen, you can store these in a Ziploc bag in your freezer.

In a blender, add coconut milk,

Greek yogurt,

the frozen banana,

spinach cubes,

ice cubes,

vanilla and peppermint extract,

and honey.

Blend everything together until it's smooth.

Top with whipped cream and chocolate chips.

It may look too good to be true, but this drink really is healthy. If you want a totally healthy post-workout drink, just leave out the whipped cream and chips at the end.
