This Historic Mansion Can Be Yours For Only $10

For many people buying a house is the biggest purchase they'll ever make in their life. The average price of a home in the U.S is $390,400 according to the U.S . Census Bureau, which means one will have to rack up a huge amount in savings to make a down payment and cover related expenses.

But what if I told you that there's a big and beautiful house on the east coast that'll only cost you $10?

It may sound hard to believe but it really does exist. There's a mansion in northern New Jersey currently listed for just $10, but there are some interesting conditions the buyer will have to meet.

The 4000 foot Montclair home was designed by the renowned architect Dudley S. Van Antwerp and features 6 bedrooms as well as 3.5 bathrooms.

The house was once owned by Aubrey Lewis, a Notre Dame football star and one of the first African Americans in the FBI. Whoever ends up with the 110-year-old abode will be owning a piece of history because the house was given a historic designation back in 2015.

The home's historic designation means that it can never be demolished and since the 2.7 acre property it's sitting on has recently been approved to be transformed into an 8-lot subdivision, the buyer will have to move the home off its current property.

The Planning Board's rules also stipulate that the buyer must pay for any repairs needed and cover the costs of moving the home off the property. However, the current owner is offering to pay $10,000 to offset the cost of hauling the house. Also, the house must be moved no farther than a quarter mile from its current location.

According to Nickel Bros., a firm that specializes in moving homes, relocating a house of this size usually costs around $200,000, but moving it within a quarter mile would be significantly cheaper. So even with all the complicated rules, you'd still be scoring a pretty good deal especially considering that the house was previously listed in the market for over $1.35 million.

If you'd like to take advantage of this deal you must do it by August 31. You can send your offer to 44pleasantave@gmail.com.
