This Kitten Was Abandoned Because Of His Deformity, But Now He's Found A Loving Home

Just like people, animals who were born a little different aren't always treated as well as they should be.

Take Seamus for example. This adorable kitten is perfectly happy and healthy, but he was abandoned at a veterinary clinic in Seattle because of his unusual face. He was born with a cleft palate and an extra cheek (that's the growth you see in these pictures), and while he needed a few surgeries, he's just as happy and playful as any other kitten.

His foster mom Heather, one of the staff members at the clinic, is helping Seamus prepare to be adopted.

Just like human children, kittens can be pretty mean towards anyone born different. The other kittens in Seamus's litter probably excluded him, and that's made him more aggressive than other cats.

To teach him to play nice, Heather is giving Seamus all the love and affection he needs.

While his second cheek gave him some vision problems when he was younger, it doesn't seem to bother him anymore. Like other cats his age, he's learning to use the litter box and eating solid food.

There's no telling what the future has in store for Seamus, but we hope he finds a happy home with some loving owners.

You can follow this Instagram account for any updates about him, but for now he's still learning to socialize with Heather.
