Mom Spends Tax Return on Rent, Other Moms Start Judging Her Choices

Christina Knaack is a single mom who works a minimum wage job to put  a roof over her kids' heads. She is 3 years sober and works hard for her money, so when she got her tax return, Christina knew what she had to do.

Knaack used all $5,600 of her return to pay her rent for the entire year. Christina was pretty happy with her choice and took to Facebook to share her good news.

"Instead of buying my kids the latest Jordans or fancy electronics I paid my rent for the YEAR. I'm a single mom and I do it all buy myself on a minimum wage job. I kno that a roof over my kids head is what's important. My kids don't want for anything because my priorities are straight. And this also means I will have that extra 450 a month to do things with my kids," she wrote.

Seems amazing, right? Christina doesn't have to worry about paying rent for a full year. An incredibly responsible choice that not many people would have made.

But, because people like to judge, Christina is facing HUGE backlash for her decision to pay off her rent. And it's not really the fact that she paid off her rent...it's that people like sticking their noses where they don't belong.

Christina was bombarded with negative messages about abusing the system, being financially irresponsible, and lying about her rent. People also claimed this is what she should have done anyways, as though paying off your rent in one shot is a normal thing people do. But instead of getting defensive and deleting the post, Christina chose to take the high road.

With all the negativity Christina got, she got just as many people coming to her defense and applauding her smart decision.

Personally, I think Christina deserves huge props for thinking ahead and providing for her kids above all else.
