The team at EVNautilus Live spotted a Stubby Squid off the cost of California at a depth of about 2,950 feet.
The googly-eyed guy was just hanging out, minding his own businesses when explorers zoomed in for his first-ever close up. We think they got his best angle.
The stubby squid, a.k.a. Rossia Pacifica looks like what would happen if an octopus and a squid had a baby, but it is actually more closely related to a cuttlefish.

But we think he has a closer resemblance to someone a little more animated...
