Sadie the shelter cat is getting a little too familiar with how her life is panning out. And that's not a good thing.
Sadie is a tortoise shell cat, which already lowers her chances of being adopted. Apparently people believe tortoise shell cats have too much attitude.
But Sadie WAS adopted...twice, as a matter of fact. Both times Sadie was returned to the shelter because she was "too shy."
"[Sadie] has more of an independent personality, which isn't too uncommon for a cat," says Christina Hill, direction of marketing and communications for the Atlanta Humane Society. "But she will need someone who is willing to give her the space she wants when she asks for it."
In 2015, Sadie was adopted and returned twice. It's now been 18 months since anyone has even showed interest in adopting her.
"Our team loves her," Hill said. "She's patiently waiting for someone to be patient with her and provide her a loving home."
The shelter staff found out that Sadie loves being brushed, so they do that as often as they can. But when they all go home at night, Sadie is still left there by herself, with no family.
