Vet Got Too Close To April The Giraffe's Baby, Learns A Painful Lesson

April the Giraffe finally gave birth to a healthy calf after what felt like an eternity.

The new calf came into the world two months after its due date as millions watched on through Animal Adventure Park's live stream.

Despite being constantly prodded and checked-on, April remained calm throughout the entire pregnancy and labor but everything changed once the baby arrived.

The giraffe's maternal instincts were in high gear just two days after she gave birth and she wasn't afraid to do what was needed to keep her newborn safe.

April got very territorial after a vet got a little too close to the baby during feeding. She gave the vet a little reminder that he won't soon forget - a few kicks to the family jewels.

You can see how it all went down in the clip below:

The zoo later assured viewers through a Facebook update that the vet sustained no injuries.

"Yesterday many of you noticed the "˜giraffe cha-cha' where April was trying to step on the toes of our vet, and more or less she was telling him she was done with his advances," wrote April's keepers.

"Later on that led to just a small little kick with the front leg but don't worry, the vet was not struck, he was totally fine."
