Not everyone is cut out for acting. Sometimes it's a really tough job.
For these two actors in Maine, the Internet has made it clear that they don't care if they're good as long as they're funny.
In an ad for Dysart's Restaurant, the older gentleman has to say "buttery flaky crust" but he just cannot do it. His co-star looks like she's going to up and quit the commercial every time he screws up.
It turns out, though, that this couple is actually married! Jack and Sonja Palmer have been married for 57 years, and they think this whole thing is a riot!
“People say we’re famous, and I don’t like that. We’re just ordinary people,” said Jack Palmer. “Kids come up to me and say ‘baked in a buttery, flaky crust’ and then say ‘Ha, I got it!’” I say it in my sleep now. And I still screw it up.”
“Hundreds of people have come up to us,” said Sonja. “Some folks from Arizona called in to order a chicken pie, and they said it because of us… What amazes me the most is teenagers. I met four boys in their 20s here, and they come up to me and asked if they could have their picture taken with me. I thought they were kidding, but they said ‘No ma’am, you’re so popular. We really want to have our picture taken with you.’ I couldn’t believe it.”
So why was this commercial so hard to film?
