10 Body Care Tricks You Probably Didn't Know About

We all want glowing skin, plump lips and shining hair. Even though there are plenty of products on the market now that promise to give you everything and more, there are cheaper ways to achieve that vibrant look without breaking the bank.

1. Saltwater Solution for brighter skin

Dissolve about 1/2 cup salt in a bowl of warm water. The solution should taste like tears. Soak a cloth in the solution for a few minutes and then gently rub in circular motions on your face for 10 minutes.

2. Fuller Lips

With a soft-bristled tooth brush, rub cosmetic oil into your lips. Peach or almond oil are recommended, but a regular lip balm will work too. Rub gently with the brush for about a minute.


3. Olive Oil Massage

First, treat your face to a mini steam. Fill a bowl with boiling water and drape a towel over your head and shoulders. Lean over the bowl and let the gentle steam open your pores.

Then, pour 1 tbsp of extra virgin olive oil into your palm and massage into your face for about 7 minutes. Repeat every 4-5 days.

4. Use honey to reduce inflammation and acne

If you have an inflamed zit that is angry and red, applying raw honey does work to reduce redness and the size of your pimple. It also has antibacterial properties that might help to fight breakouts.

5. No honey? Use eye drops!

Eye drops have a redness-reducing ingredient that is effective in reducing the appearance of pimples. Soak a cotton pad in eye drop solution and pop it in the freezer for 3-5 minutes. Gently press the cotton pad against the zit and it will greatly reduce in appearance.


6. Use baking soda on ingrown hairs

A simple homemade body scrub applied to your skin helps to loosen ingrown hairs without tweezers!


1 tsp of baking soda

1 tsp ground oatmeal

1 tbsp water

Stir into a paste and apply to your skin. Let it sit for 5 minutes then rinse with hot water.

7. Bananas for shiny hair

Mix 1 banana, 1 egg, 1 tbsp of honey and 1/2 glass of dark beer. Blend all the ingredients in a small bowl and stir until smooth. Apply the mixture to your hair and let it rest for a couple of hours, then rinse out with warm water.

Use the mask once a week for beautiful results!


8.  Thicker lashes

Mix 1/2 tsp of coconut oil with 2-4 drops of lavender essential oil.

Using a cotton pad or Q-tip, gently rub the mixture into your lashes covering them from root to tip. Apply at least three times each week for shiner, thicker lashes.
