The World's Widest Tree Is Bigger Than A Walmart

The canopy of the Great Banyan tree is made p of 3,511 aerial prop roots that connect to the earth. They may look like individual trees, but these roots cover 3.5 square acres of land, which is about 156,000 square feet or 14,400 square meters!

In the 1890s, Bayer  promoted heroine for use in children who suffered from coughs, colds and "irritation" into 1912. This was long after reports surfaced in 1899 that patients had developed a "tolerance" for Heroin, when addicts in the U.S. were scrambling for more and more.

It wasn't until 1924 that the FDA banned Heroin entirely, except for use under very strict medical conditions.

Harvard University Is Older Than Calculus

The oldest higher education institution in the United States, it was founded in 1636, but Calculus wasn't created until later in the 17th.

Just like humans, apes and elephants, dolphins, whales and porpoises have belly buttons. They are marine mammals that give birth to live young.

Similar to human babies, baby marine mammals are born with an umbilical cord, which provides oxygenated, nutrient rich blood from mom to her unborn baby. When the baby dolphin is born, the umbilical cord detaches and the little one can begin feeding on its own.

Since they are born with umbilical cords, dolphins also have belly buttons!
