3 Drool-Worthy Dessert Pizzas That Change Up Your After Dinner Treat

Pizza has been around for some time now, but why haven’t dessert pizzas got there big break yet? I had an apple crisp pizza delivered last week and it got me thinking, what else could I done with this idea?

Whether you're into chocolate, apples or berries I got you covered! The ultimate indulgence of triple chocolate pizza, the ultimate comfort of apple crisp pizza and let’s not forget about my cheese danish inspired very berry pizza! All are desserts and all are delizioso!

Ingredients:

Chocolate:

  • Pizza Dough
  • ⅓ cup Nutella
  • ⅓ cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup milk chocolate chips
  • ⅓ cup white chocolate chips
  • 1 cup mini marshmallows

Apple crisps pizza:

  • Pizza dough
  • 2 & 1/2 cups apples, peeled and finely diced
  • 2 Tablespoons flour
  • 2 Tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1/2 cup cold butter
  • 1/3 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup oatmeal
  • Caramel Sauce to drizzle on top

Cheesy Berries Pizza:

  • 1 pizza dough
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/3 cup blueberry jam
  • 1 cup grated mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • Raspberries

Directions:

Chocolate:

  1. Place the oven rack to the lowest position and turn the oven to 450F.
  2. Spray a 12 inch or 13 inch round pan or a rectangular baking sheet with non stick cooking spray.
  3. Turn the dough onto the pan or baking sheet and spread it evenly with your hand into a 12/13 inch circle.
  4. Using the palm of your hand, push the dough to the sides of the pan to create a thicker edge. Using your fingers, make indentation all over the dough, except for the edges.
  5. Brush the dough with the melted butter.
  6. Bake the dough until slightly crisp and pale golden brown, about 10-12 minutes.
  7. Immediately, spread the Nutella over the pizza (leaving the edges bare), then sprinkle with the 3 types of chocolate and finishing it off with the marshmallows.
  8. Place back in the oven, and bake just until the chocolate starts to melt and the marshmallows takes on a golden brown color, 2-3 minutes. Do not bake for too long or the chocolate will harden.
  9. Cut the pizza into wedges and enjoy right away.

Apple crisps pizza:

  1. Peel and dice the apples. Toss them with the flour, brown sugar, cinnamon and nutmeg. Grease and lightly dust a pizza pan with cornmeal. Preheat oven to 400 F. Pat out the dough into a 12 - 15 inch circle. Lightly brush with olive oil. Spread the apples on top of the dough.
  2. To make the streusel, mix together the flour and brown sugar. Cut in the cold butter until it makes pea-sized crumbs. Gently stir in oatmeal. Sprinkle over the apples.
  3. Bake at 400 F. for 28-22 minutes or until the apples are tender and the crust is browned. Let cool slightly. Serve warm with caramel and vanilla ice cream.

Cheesy Berries Pizza:

  1. Preheat oven to 425F.
  2. Place cream cheese and cinnamon in a small bowl and stir together until well combined.
  3. Spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the surface of the crust.
  4. Next, spread the blueberry jam over the cream cheese mixture.
  5. Sprinkle the mozzarella over the jam, followed by the fresh blueberries.
  6. Place the pizza directly onto the oven rack and bake for 15 to 20 minutes or until the cheese melts and bubbles and the blueberries just begin to juice.
  7. Allow to cool for a few minutes, cut and serve.
