8 Laundry Tips Your Mom Probably Never Taught You

- Page 1

Our moms taught us everything we know about being an adult, for the most part. Although our mothers are amazing and helpful, they might have not told you about these laundry hacks that will literally change your life.

1. Vinegar

You can prevent fading by adding half a cup of vinegar to each wash load. As a bonus, vinegar acts as a natural fabric softener. You don't have to worry about your clothes smelling like vinegar either, the smell always washes away throughout the rinse cycle.

2. Salt

While you're already in your cupboard getting vinegar, grab the salt too! Adding salt to your wash load will help stop new garments from bleeding. To do this, add half a cup of salt to a load with something being washed for the first time. The salt should dissolve throughout the cycle.

3. Ice cubes

If you have a piece of clothing that is wrinkled or even needs to be freshened up, throw it in the dryer with an ice cube and a dryer sheet. Let it run for 10 minutes and it will come out smelling fresh and smoother than ever.

4. Towels

If you need a load to dry quicker, toss a dry towel in with the load for 15 to 20 minutes. The dry towel will help absorb moisture from the other items, helping them dry quicker.
