Our favorite stars like to go all out when it comes to celebrating special occasions like weddings. Aside from a custom-made designer outfits and lavish decor, the rich and famous have been known to bring in the wow factor with their choice of cakes.

1. Pierce Brosnan and Keely Shaye Smith - $2,430

Satin Ice

Little Venice Cake Company designed the lavish looking cake inspired by Jack and Jacqueline Kennedy's cake. The 6-tier carrot cake was decorated with crystallized edible flowers made by the bride's mother.

2. Paul McCartney and Heather Mills - $4,500

The Beatles star and his wife satisfied their chocoholic guests' sweet tooth with a four tier chocolate cake made by Choccywoccydoodah of Brighton

3. Michael Douglas and Catherine Zeta-Jones - $7,000

Sylvia Weinstock made the ornate vanilla and buttercream cake for the Hollywood pair. The six feet tall sugar flower-decorated cake was so big that two of its tiers had to be removed so it could fit through the doors.

4. Chelsea Clinton and Marc Mezvinsky - $11,000

When you're the daughter of a former President of the United States and a Secretary of State, spending $11,000 on a wedding cake isn't as outrageous and you'd think. The 5-foot, 11-tier gluten-free chocolate mousse and vanilla fondant wedding cake was designed by La Tulipe Desserts in Mt. Kisco, New York. It weighed about 500 pounds and was decorated with 1,000 sugar flowers.

5. Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries - $20,000

The black and white towering confection was actually taller than the six-foot-nine groom. Kim and Kris wanted a cake similar to the one served at the Royal Wedding but with a "Jennifer Lopez-style twist." The chocolate-chip marble cake by L.A.-based Hansen's weighed nearly 600 pounds and each tier had its own unique design.

6. Eddie Murphy and Nicole Mitchell - $25,000

In 1993, the comedian and model Nicole Mitchell celebrated their nuptials with a $25,000 tiered cake decorated with an abundance of peach-colored flowers.

7. Liza Minnelli and David Gest - $40,000

Liza celebrated her fourth marriage with a 12-tier cake that's taller than a lot of people. The multi-colored sponge cake was covered in white and black icing and layers of red and purple sugar roses as accents.

8. Prince Charles and Princess Diana - $40,000

If we're taking into account inflation, this cake is worth over $100,000 today. The 5-foot-tall cake was one of the 27 cakes available at the wedding. It was designed by David Avery of the Royal Naval Cookery School and took 14 weeks to create. It was decorated with flowers and the royal family's coat of arms. In 2014, a 33-year-old slice of the cake was auctioned off for more than $1,300.

9. Prince William and Princess Kate - $80,000

The 2011 royal wedding featured one of the world's most expensive cakes. The magnificent eight-tiered fruit cake was designed by Fiona Cairns and took 5 weeks to complete. It was decorated with white icing and 900 sugar paste flowers depicting 17 different blooms and foliage with special meanings.
