Abigaile "Abby" Lee Miller is a beloved American dance instructor and choreographer best known for her appearances on the reality show, Dance Moms. She also worked on multiple spin offs of the show, including Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition, Dance Moms: Miami, and Dance Moms: Abby's Studio Rescue.

According to Doctor Hooman Melamed, Abby Lee was admitted to the hospital after suffering what doctors feared was a rare spinal infection. As they prepared her for surgery to assess the situation, they discovered the frightening truth.

Rather than battling a brutal infection as they had feared, Abby Lee was going toe-to-toe with a form of non-Hodgkins lymphoma known as Burkitt Lymphoma.

Burkitt Lymphoma is often associated with decreased immunity by those affected. Unfortunately, the disease can often become fatal if left unchecked, but with intensive chemotherapy, those affected can have a good chance at long-term survival.

In 2017, Abby Lee was sentenced to serve one year and one day in prison after committing bankruptcy fraud, and was currently serving the remainder of her time in a halfway house when she was diagnosed.
