Grandmas Took The Stage, But No One Anticipated Their Extraordinary Act

Shows like Britain's Got Talent are great, because they allow people from all walks of life to put on a show and potentially change their lives.

We all remember Susan Boyle, who shocked judges with her breathtaking vocals, despite what many people called an "ugly" appearance. Boyle now has a net worth of over $33 million.

These shows also tug at our heartstrings, as we learn more and more about a contestant's backstory. We all cried when watching Christian Burrows sing a song he wrote for his late brother on The X Factor.

But I think we can all agree that the best performances are the ones that leave us feeling happy with big smiles on our faces.

That's why The Cocooners are still being talked about today.

In 2015, a group of older women took to the stage on Britain's Got Talent and no one had high expectations. The audience thought maybe a cute song, a little dance, but nothing too extravagant.

The ladies started by introducing themselves. Michelle is 63, Heather is 70-something (her words), Lynn is 80 and Maxine is 75. They were all dressed in stereotypical "granny" outfits, but that's where the stereotypes ended.

All four women got on top of a box, ripped off their outfits, and brought the audience to their feet.

Even Simon Cowell couldn't hold back a smile as he watched the ladies perform their hearts out on stage!

The Cocooners proved to all of us that age is just a number, and that it shouldn't hold you back from doing what you love!
