Every year, People magazine chooses the "Sexiest Man Alive" to grace their cover. The honor goes to the man who the publication deems the most successful, most attractive that year. It's all in good fun, of course. It's an excuse to pick a celebrity and fawn over him for a few weeks until the next big news story roles around. But it's always fun to see who gets picked as the Sexiest Man Alive.

Usually, it's predictable; George Clooney, Matthew McConaughey, and Brad Pitt have all been given the title. But last year, people were a little taken aback when Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson won the title.

But it's possible that 2017's Sexiest Man is even more divisive than last year's.

People released their choice Wednesday, and it's already raising a lot of questions. This year's winner?

Blake Shelton. That's right. The Voice coach and country music mega-star was given the highly-anticipated title and people are...conflicted. Even Shelton himself acknowledges he's an unorthodox choice.

"Y'all must be running out of people," he told the magazine. "Like, wow, we're down to somebody who is somewhat symmetrical."

Shelton didn't even want to accept the award, but he credits his girlfriend, Gwen Stefani, for pushing him to do it.

"She goes, 'Listen to me, you're going to regret this for the rest of your life if you don't take this gift and just live in the moment'," Shelton said.

Shelton has had a successful year, there's no question. He was the first country artist to win Album of the Year at the People's Choice Awards, he won Country Artist of the Year at the Billboard Awards, he released his 6th #1 album, and continues to be a dominant coach on The Voice. He's the first country artist to win Sexiest Man Alive. With all that said, not everyone is seeing the merit behind People's choice.

Personally, I don't have an issue with their choice! It's all for fun, anyways. What do you think?
