1. China will become the world's next "superpower."
As of now, the U.S. holds the title for being the world's most powerful country, but according to Vanga, the tables will turn next year. China has had exponential economic growth over the past few years, so this prediction is not so far-fetched.
In 2015, China made up for 15.6% of the world's economy, compared to 4.1% in 1970. The U.S. contributed only 1% more than China in 2015, but that number is expected to fall in the coming years for the U.S., while for China it's predicted to rise.
In light of that evidence, China becoming the most powerful country in the world makes sense to a lot of people, but the next prediction is bizarre.
2. A "new form of energy" will be discovered on Venus.
We're only a few days from 2018, so it's puzzling as to how we'll be able to find an unknown form of energy on Venus. Currently, there are no plans to send a space mission to the hottest planet in the solar system.
That being said, the Parker Solar Probe is scheduled to launch in July 2018 and will investigate the outer corona of the sun. The probe will use Venus's gravitational force to pass around the star in order to determine the structure of the magnetic fields, to explore the dusty plasma and its influence on solar wind and particle formation, and to better understand the flow of energy that heats the plasma surrounding the sun.
Who knows, something world-changing could come out of that mission!
Vanga's previous predictions have come true, but will these? I guess we'll just have to wait and see...
