Former 'Price Is Right' Host Bob Barker Rushed To The Hospital

CBS

It's been a rough couple of months for Bob Barker.

The former Price is Right host's health has taken a downturn recently, and as a result, he has been hospitalized numerous times.

Just this week, the 94-year-old TV star was once again rushed to the hospital after complaining of severe back pain, making it the second time in less than a month.

Barker's manager confirmed that he was "taken by ambulance from his home to Cedars Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles for back pain on Sunday afternoon."

As for his condition, he is "awake, alert, and improving, but he's up and down."

Barker has been experiencing ongoing back pain, and all of his recent hospitalizations are all related to this condition.

He was previously hospitalized on October 22, and just a few weeks before that, paramedics were called to his home after he suffered "a non-emergency back injury."

According to celebrity news website TMZ, Barker's manager revealed that these recent hospitalizations are related to a fall Barker had in 2017.

Barker took a spill in his bathroom and hit his head, and although there weren't any visible injuries, his staff insisted that he get checked by a doctor.

He was cleared to go home after tests and some observation revealed that he sustained no internal injuries.

"[Barker's] housekeeper took him to Cedar [Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles], where he underwent some minor testing," his rep confirmed at the time. "He was in and out [of the hospital], spent maybe a couple of hours there. He's now home and has had some minor discomfort and pain but is doing fine, as the days go on."

In 2015, Barker sustained a much more serious fall after stubbing his toe on cement while out for a walk. Two LAPD officers who happened to be near Barker quickly came to his aid and called an ambulance.

"I started to fall forward, and I didn't want to land on the cement so I twisted and landed right over here but my head was on the cement and so I cut my head all up and cut my knee and scraped it," he recalled during an interview with ET Online. "They had me out of here and to the emergency hospital in no time at all," said Barker. "I'm telling you the good Lord was watching over me."

It's unclear how long Barker will remain under medical care this time, but we're hoping he'll get to return home very soon.

We're wishing him a very speedy recovery!
