Bride's Emotional Wedding Day Surprise Will Make You Weep

It's no secret that the perfect wedding day plays out in our minds long before it actually happens. Walking down the aisle to the person of your dreams, surrounded by your family and close friends, getting ready to celebrate the love that you are so excited to share for the rest of your lives.

For Brittany, that dream included having her grandpa, Rev. Ronald Adkins, officiate her wedding.

"From the time I was little, I knew I wanted him to officiate my wedding and he always told me he would be honored to do so," Brittany Yost told ABC News. "Truthfully, I would've been honored to have him there."

Unfortunately, he passed away in April 2016 before Brittany tied the knot with the love of her life, Jordon Yost.

Brittany grew up living next door to her grandparents, so she had a very close relationship with them throughout her entire life.

"I was always at my grandparents' house because I loved it there. But as a kid, who doesn't love grandma and grandpa's house?" she told HuffPost. "For me that feeling never changed "• he was always there when I needed him and never hesitated to tell me when I was wrong or what to do to make something better. He was always my go-to and one of my biggest supporters, and I was always his helper."

Together with the bride's brother and sister, Jordon didn't let Brittany's dream diminish so quickly.

During their ceremony at the Crab Orchard, in West Virginia, the preacher asked everyone to bow their head in prayer.

That's when it happened.

While everyone had their head bowed was when grandpa Ronald's voice began playing over the loud speaker. He said the prayer, pronounced them husband and wife and even announce to the groom that he could kiss the bride.

"I immediately recognized his voice and started sobbing," the bride told HuffPost. "Different emotions were racing through my head while trying to soak in hearing my grandpa's voice. I was weak to my knees, chilled, but despite all the tears, I was smiling inside."

Jordon was able to pull off this huge surprise by using an audio recording from Brittany's sister's wedding in 2015, which their grandfather had officiated.

"I had the privilege to get to know her grandfather a little bit before he passed, so it was a very heartfelt moment for me as well," Jordan Yost told ABC News. "When she broke down, I tried everything that I could to support her and embrace her by grasping onto her arms. The emotion was very intense. We both cried like babies, as well as everyone in attendance."

Brittany had no idea that her groom had this surprise up his sleeve, and neither did most of their guests.

"My sister, brother and husband worked together along with a few others to make this happen," she told HuffPost. "Besides the bridal party and those involved, no one knew. Our guests, including myself, were weeping and the emotions and love that flowed through our ceremony was truly touching."

That's when photographer Sarah Irvin captured this special moment.

"I've photographed a lot of weddings and this was the most incredible moment I've ever had the honor to witness," the photographer wrote on Facebook.

Brittany believed this to be a powerful way to start the couple's marriage.

"Having him pray over our wedding was the most memorable moment and one I will cherish forever. Family is very important to me and I could not have imagined anyone else pronouncing us husband and wife besides my papaw," she said. "All the dreams I had as a little girl came true."
