Earlier this week, we brought you the good news that Jason Aldean and his wife Brittany had welcomed their second child together, a baby girl named Navy Rome Aldean.
While the newborn was born healthy, Brittany, 30, has revealed to fans on Instagram that she's remained in hospital since her delivery Monday while fending off a painful reaction.
"When your labor goes amazing... but then things go south," Brittany wrote in her Instagram story, with a snapshot of her swollen feet.
"Still hospital living with my trooper of a [husband] and precious little girl."
Brittany hinted that a blood transfusion was somehow responsible for the bad reaction. "One blood transfusion..." she wrote, "and swollen everything."
She added in another photo of her toes that she had been in hospital "for days" and was "ready to take these fat little piggies home."
While the Aldeans haven't revealed anything else about their hospital stay, Brittany has been open about fertility troubles that affected both her pregnancies.
The Aldeans relied on in vitro fertilization (IVF) to conceive their children because Brittany suffers from endometriosis.
"The IVF was probably harder than the actual pregnancy, for me, because it was just such a roller coaster and so difficult," Brittany told People.
"It's such high highs and such low lows, and no one really knows that you're going through it all so you have to just put on a game face and pretend that you're not giving yourself shots in your stomach every day, all day."
Despite whatever she's going through in hospital, Brittany wrote that it's all #WorthIt, and from the cute picture of Navy she shared it's easy to see why.
Brittany also shared a video of her son, Memphis, cozying up to his baby sister for the first time and giving her a welcome-to-the-family kiss.
Navy also joins Keeley and Kendyl, Aldean's daughters from his previous marriage.
