Cats Abandoned And Left To Die In The Snow Have Found Their Forever Home

When prolific Imgur user, provinciallife got a message from her dad saying that he had found a pair of abandoned kittens on the side of the road, she had no idea what she should expect. Her father had been slowly driving down a rather slippery, snow covered road when he spotted a white box tucked up under some tree branches.

When she got off of work, she and her father went back together to check to see if the kittens were still there. When they got back there, they realized just how badly in need of attention these cats were. They were hungry, malnourished, and on the verge of death.

It appeared that the box had been purposely positioned under fallen tree branches to ensure that the lid didn't come off. There was even food in there, which meant that someone had been feeding them. That raised more questions though; why would someone be feeding them yet leave them out in the bitter cold?

It was an easy decision to bring the kittens back home and to try and nurture them back to health, and that is exactly what they did. One of the kittens was in better health than the other, but both of them were terrified of being separated.

One of the cats had been covered in feces and urine, and it had mucus caked around both of its eyes. First thing was first, they needed to get the cats cleaned up so that they could see exactly what they were dealing with.

Not long after they had been cleaned and fed, the two of them were up and walking around on their own, albeit, a bit wobbly at first. Although they were already falling in love with the two little kitties, they needed to make sure that they were willing to take care of them in the long term.

"If you're going to get a cat, make sure you do research first. Cats are a furrever friend. They're not disposable, despite what the person who abandoned these cats might think. My dad came home after work and told me he found a box with two kittens in it. But I could never prepare myself for what we found." - Provinciallife

They decided to keep them, and named them Tango and Cash. Cash ended up having to have his tail amputated due to a festering wound. Both are now happy, healthy and loved.
