10 Celebrity Myths We All Need To Stop Spreading

Daily Mirror / TMZ

Being in the limelight is not easy. The rate at which information travels on social media makes catching on to these myths a whole lot harder.

Here are 10 celebrity myths that have no validity whatsoever.

10. Avril Lavigne died and was replaced by a look-alike.

In 2015, a Brazilian web page went viral claiming that the pop-punk singer died in 2003 and was replaced by someone named Melissa Vandella. They firmly believed that Avril Lavigne's look changed drastically, and many still believe in this conspiracy to this day. Avril's music may not be on the same level as it was when she first started out, but it doesn't mean she died!

9. Paul McCartney died in a car crash in 1966.

Here's another doppleganger theory. Some believe that The Beatles singer was replaced after his alleged death. Some claim there's evidence in their songs and in the album cover of "Abbey Road" that hint at the death of the 75-year-old music legend. In the picture below, it looks like Paul has trouble keeping up with his bandmates. Also, he's barefoot. Not sure how that makes him dead, but people still believe in these theories.

8. Walt Disney's body was frozen and he'll be coming back in the future.

We all want one of the world's greatest animators to come back and surprise us with another amazing creation, but that won't be happening. The reality is that Walt Disney was cremated, and his remains were buried in Los Angeles. Many believe that just because cryogenics was developed around the time of his death, Disney opted for that option.

7. Stevie Wonder is not as blind as he says he is.

It's hard to believe someone with that much piano talent cannot see the keys he's playing, but it's true. Stevie Wonder was born six week premature and developed a condition that caused his retinas to detach.

6. Michael Jackson is still alive, and so is Tupac.

It's hard to know that the King of Pop and one of the greatest rappers of all time died, but we need to accept that no one is superhuman and move on. There have been several photos circulating online claiming that Michael Jackson and Tupac have secret lives.

5. Beyoncé was never pregnant with her first child.

Queen B fans will refute this statement until they die, but there are still people who believe in the rumor circulated by an Australian TV show claiming that her baby bump was fake. Then people started spreading a rumor that the pop singer has fertility problems. Well, not only did she have Blue Ivy, she also gave birth to twins in 2017. It seems like her reproductive organs are doing just fine.

4. Katy Perry is JonBenet Ramsey.

Some people would be willing to swear on their life that Katy Perry is the late pageant princess JonBenet. Not only do they claim that they look alike, but Katy's parents also look very similar to JonBenet's. Although there's a lot of mystery surrounding the little girl's death, it doesn't mean she's the pop singer. I think we need a lot more evidence than that!

3. Most pop stars are Satanists.

Countless pop stars like Jay Z, Lady Gaga, and the Rolling Stones have been accused of being part of the Illuminati. This is one of the most widely believed theories about famous celebrities. They may not be the best role models out there, but they sure are not part of some secret satanic cult trying to destroy the world.

2. R&B singer Ciara was born male.

You've probably heard something like this: Ciara was once a hermaphrodite and had surgery to remove her male private parts. Then we thought she was a lesbian at some point in the peak of her popularity. Contrary to popular opinion, Ciara was born female and is still a woman.

1. Former U.S. President Barack Obama was born in Kenya.

Ever since Obama ran for president, he's been questioned about where he was born. Malik Obama, Obama's half-brother and a fervent Trump supporter, re-ignited the controversy on Twitter in early 2017 when he posted an image of a document alleging that the first African-American president was not born on U.S. soil.

For those who are still skeptical, the White House released Barack's long-form birth certificate in 2011.
