Dunkin' Donuts And Baskin-Robbins Will Eliminate Artificial Additives By 2018

There's some fantastic news coming out of the headquarters of America's favorite dessert chains.

In an attempt to make their menu items healthier for their loyal customers, Dunkin Brands Group Inc announced that by the end of 2018, Dunkin Donuts and Baskin-Robbins will no longer use artificial coloring and flavoring in their products.

This is definitely a step in the right direction!

"It's our goal to meet the evolving needs of our guests, including their preference for more nutritional transparency and simpler ingredients, while maintaining the great taste and fun, and vibrant colors expected from Dunkin' Donuts," wrote the Dunkin' Editorial Staff. "We know that this is important to you, so it is important to us."

Dunkin Donuts has already rolled out a lineup of cream cheese spreads that are free of synthetic additives and within the next two years, all your favorite treats including COOLATTA frozen drinks, coffee-flavored drinks and donuts will all be free of it too.

Since 2014, Dunkin' Brand Group Inc. has been actively working towards creating a healthier and cleaner menu for its dedicated customers. They plan to "enhance menu quality by simplifying ingredient labels and lowering sodium and sugar content without sacrificing taste."

Despite being approved by the FDA, the use of artificial dyes and flavors by the food industry has always been subject to debate especially with recent reports about the dangers of such food additives to our health.
