Dessert for a group is stressful, but it doesn't have to be. Trifles are just too easy to throw together in a pinch.
Ferrero Rocher are in everyone's stockings at christmas time and why not make a super creamy nutella mousse layered with moist chocolate cake and everyone's favorite whipped cream! Top it all off with whole Ferrero Rocher right on top!
Ingredients:
For Chocolate Cake:
- 1 favourite box cake mix, cut up in 1 inch cubes
- ½ cup hot chocolate
For Nutella Mousse:
- 3/4 cup Nutella
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 6 Tablespoon cream
For Whipped Cream:
- 1 cup whipping cream
- 1/4 cup sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla
- 6 Ferrero Rocher, chopped roughly
Directions:
For Nutella Mousse:
- Beat all together until smooth. Add enough milk to ensure a pudding like consistency.
For Whipped Cream:
- Whip cream until soft peaks form. Add sugar and vanilla and beat a little more but not too much!
For Assembly:
- Arrange half of the chocolate cake pieces in the bottom of your bowl.
- Drizzle 4 Tb of hot chocolate over the top of the cake pieces.
- Spread half of the Nutella mousse over the cake evenly.
- Spread half of the whipped cream over the mousse.
- Sprinkle half of the chopped Ferrero Rocher over the whipped cream.
- Repeat all layers.
- Refrigerate at least 1 hour before serving. You can make it ahead of time and refrigerate overnight too.
