Terminally Ill Man Has One Final Wish - To Find His Dogs A Good Home

Fox 26

There are no words to describe what a patient feels when a doctor tells them their days are numbered.

Everyone's thought process is different, but I would imagine that in the first few seconds they'd be in shock.

But when Bobby Lynn Brockman was told he was dying, the last thing he thought about was himself. It was his "kids" that he was concerned about.

Bobby had prostate cancer, which went into remission for almost a year, until the cancer returned to his mouth and bones.

According to Fox 26 Houston, he was forced to get his tongue removed. He also underwent 110 radiation treatments and 12 rounds of chemotherapy.

Even after all that, doctors couldn't see Bobby's condition improving.

“There is no cure for it, there’s no cure,” Bobby told the news outlet. “They sent me home with pain medication and gave me a hospital bed.”

Now that Bobby knows his days are numbered, he wants a better future for his kids.

And when he says his kids, he means his dogs.

"Those dogs are like family to me. They’re my kids," he said. "They adopted me more than I adopted them."

Bobby is single and lives alone, so the most important things in his life are his three small dogs and four large dogs.

One of his four large dogs just delivered puppies, and another one is expecting.

“They will be here till I die,” he said of the small dogs.

But he hopes that the large dogs and their puppies will find a good home.

“It would mean everything in the world to know they’re going to be happy and have someone love them and take care of them.”

Adopt a Rescued Friend has stepped in to help make Bobby's final wish come true.

"We've got to find a way to help him, we've just got to," Karen Wakefield from the organization said. "We just want to help him have some peace of mind and be at peace."

Please share this story! Let's find good homes for Bobby's beloved dogs!
