George H.W. Bush Just Got A Service Dog And He's The Best Boy You'll Ever Meet

Congratulations to George H.W. Bush who just extended his family with a new furry, four-legged addition.

On June 25, the 41st President of the United States introduced the world to Sully, his yellow Labrador retriever, who serves as his service dog.

Bush posted a picture on Twitter featuring his new pup and former President Bill Clinton with the caption: "A great joy to welcome home the newest member of our family, 'Sully,' a beautiful -- and beautifully trained -- lab from @AmericasVetDogs. Could not be more grateful, especially for their commitment to our veterans."

The puppy's arrival comes on the heels of the recent death of Bush's wife Barbara who passed away at the age of 92. They had been married for 73 years.

Sully, who was named after Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger, the pilot who successfully landed a damaged passenger jet in New York's Hudson River in 2009, has been taught to follow a two-page list of commands, which include answering the phone, opening doors and retrieving various items.

"As one person said, he can do just about anything except make you a martini, but not to worry, he can go get you someone to make you a martini!" Bush spokesman Jim McGrath said.

Sully was trained by America's Vet Dogs, an organization that trains and pairs service dogs with disabled veterans and first responders either to be a permanent member of their household or simply help in their rehabilitation process.

Bush served in the navy during World War II, and while he's still mentally sound, the 94-year-old has been in and out of the hospital in recent months for various health conditions.

Sully already has his own Instagram account, where pictures are captioned from the canine's point of view.

"I started settling in at Walker's Point yesterday. Lots of new smells and kind people. I have had a lot of training to get to this point, it hasn't always been easy, but I am ready for the job. "Any definition of a successful life must include service to others," his most recent picture was captioned.

On the same day, Bush also tweeted out a picture of him with former President Bill Clinton to celebrate the latter's latest book, "The President Is Missing," co-written with award-winning author James Patterson.

To commemorate his friend's achievement, Bush decided to wear a pair of socks with Clinton's face on them.

"Special visit today with a great friend -- and now, a best-selling author. Luckily I had a freshly laundered pair of @BillClinton socks to mark the occasion," Bush tweeted.
