The New 'Grey's Anatomy' Trailer Is So Intense You May Need An Oxygen Mask

After 14 years on air, Grey's Anatomy has seen many changes, lost some fan-favorites, like April Kepner (Sarah Drew), Dr. Arizona Robbins (Jessica Capshaw), and Dr. Derek Sheppard (Patrick Dempsey left the role in 2015), and introduced some new characters.

Just last week, ABC revealed that Chris Carmack, best known for his roles in Nashville and The O.C., would be joining the cast as an "ortho God." His character's name has yet to be announced.

The network also announced the addition of a groundbreaking character, Dr. Nico Kim (Alex Landi), who will be Grey Sloan Memorial's first ever gay male surgeon. The upcoming season will mark the first time that a male gay character is billed as a series regular.

The return of Dr. Teddy Altman (Kim Raver), who previously appeared on the show as Dr. Owen Hunt's love interest, has also been confirmed.

While many fans of the show were just excited to finally get some details about the new season, there were some longtime viewers who weren't too thrilled about the new season due to all the recent cast shuffling.

Thankfully, the producers have restored our faith in their ability to deliver a great plot with the release of the 15th season's first official trailer.

Spoilers ahead, you've been warned.

In addition to revealing that the season premiere will be a two hour event, we get a glimpse of the new doctors and see Teddy revealing her pregnancy to Maggie (Kelly McCreary).

We also hear gun shots being fired in the O.R (what is Grey's Anatomy without tragedy?), and during a steamy scene, we meet Meredith's potential love inetrest, who is none other than Dr. Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti)!

ABC

Krista Vernoff, the showrunner told TVLine that we shouldn't be surprised to see Meredith back in the dating game as this is the "Season of Love."

She continued:

"Yes, [Mer]'s a single mom, and that complicates a dating life. And yes, she's a surgical marvel with new, game-changing medical ideas she'll be pursuing. But she also hasn't dated at all since [Martin Henderson's] Nathan Riggs left [in season 14]. And the one-two punch of meeting [Scott Speedman's] Nick Marsh awoke a desire in her that she can't put back to sleep.

The question this season is not 'Will Meredith Grey find love again?' but 'With whom will she find love?'"

We all want to know the answer, but we'll have to be patient until the season premieres on Thursday, Spetember 27 at 8 p.m.

For now, we have a sizzling, heart-stopping trailer to tide us over for the next two weeks. Check it out:
