After going through the heartbreak that comes with a failed marriage, Gwen Stefani and Blake Shelton found love again with each other.

The couple met in 2013 while working as coaches on the reality singing competition The Voice, but did not start dating until they both got divorced in 2015.

Shelton and Stefani have been inseparable ever since. Stefani returned to the show in Season 12, and their romance was used to the show's advantage.

The Voice has made videos specifically promoting their relationship as TV's "hottest romance." It's even worked into their contracts.

"[Blake and Gwen] are getting paid an exceptional bonus that is significantly higher than the other judges to keep the spark alive on-camera," explained an insider. "Bosses are really, really pushing for this. They want nothing more than for Blake to propose to Gwen during a taping of the show."

While fans weren't very pleased with the way the couple's slightly controversial romance was forced upon them, it's nice to know that it was just for the sake of publicity.

It's been nearly three years, and their relationship is stronger than ever.

Stefani has come to her man's defense multiple times, especially after people felt that he did not deserve to be crowned People's Sexiest Man Alive in 2017. She told Ellen that she was the one who convinced her boyfriend to do the photoshoot.

"If you think about it, what defines sexy? It really is so personal. For me it's just that big old heart and that sense of humor, you know? He doesn't even take himself seriously, and he's just such an incredible person."

Over the course of their relationship, Stefani has also been known to spoil her man with very unique, practical gifts.

Last Christmas, the No Doubt singer told Tonight Show's Jimmy Fallon that she was going to get him a couch because "he doesn't fit in any of my furniture at my house, he's too big."

"'I'm gonna get you a couch, like, that's gonna be your Christmas present,'" she told him. "I'm putting it outside so he can put out fires and stuff like that. I try to make him comfortable in L.A."

More recently, Shelton celebrated his 42nd birthday on June 18, and Stefani once again delivered an impressive gift. For his special day, Stefani gave her country beau an American flag and a flagpole for his property in Oklahoma.

The couple posed for a photo in front of the flag, and Stefani shared the adorable snap on Instagram with the caption Birthday...love u."

Shelton was also surprised with a huge cake in the shape of a bottle from his vodka brand, Smithworks.

In the days leading up to his birthday, Shelton, Stefani and his family celebrated with a dinner party during which Stefani serenaded the birthday boy.

She shared the sweet video on Instagram, and can be heard loudly singing "Happy Birthday dear Blakey" to Shelton.

The couple and their family then made their way to Oklahoma, where they spent Shelton's birthday hanging out by the lake and at the pool.

It sounds like a fun time was had by all, and judging by Shelton's smile in the photo, he clearly liked his patriotic birthday gift.
