Materials Needed
- 2x4x6 piece of wood pine
- sandpaper
- white felt
- paint - black, white, cream, pink, brown
- crackle medium
- basswood
- black wire
- burlap
- ribbon
- hot glue gun
- scissors
- white pom pom
Directions
Take your board of wood and cut it so that you have three different sizes, and then sand down all the edges until smooth. Paint the blocks brown.
Once dry, apply the crackle medium and allow it to sit for 20 minutes (no longer - you want it to still be wet).
Now use cream paint and go over the crackle medium with a well loaded brush in one stroke, making sure NOT to touch the paint that you have added to the blocks.
Take your basswood and carve it into a nose shape then apply pink paint.
On the back glue three pieces of black wire to be used as the whiskers, and also apply a small piece of white elt to use as the teeth.
One your wood piece has dried, glue the nose to the wood.
Add on the eyes using black paint.
For the ears, use burlap with a piece of ribbon glued to it and then tie the burlap into a knot and glue on top of the block.
Finally, glue a white pom pom to the back of the block to be used a tail.
