Golden-Globe Winner Is Trying To Save Christmas For One Family

Hugh Laurie is known for his portrayal of dark, often troubled characters. He played Dr. Gregory House on House from 2004 to 2012, and every episode you got a glimpse into his depression and addiction (and his sarcastic humor).

Hugh Laurie lived in Los Angeles while filming the show, while his wife and three kids stayed in Britain. Towards the end of the series, Laurie admitted he was over it all.

"I had some pretty bleak times, dark days when it seemed like there was no escape," Laurie admitted. "And having a very Presbyterian work ethic, I was determined never to be late, not to miss a single day's filming. You wouldn't catch me phoning in to say, 'I think I may be coming down with the flu.' But there were times when I'd think, 'If I were just to have an accident on the way to the studio and win a couple of days off to recover, how brilliant would that be?'"

But all that depressing material doesn't mean it's hardened Laurie as a person. In fact, it's quite the opposite. The on-screen scrooge is trying to turn into a real-life Santa.

Christmas is stressful enough without having to worry about your packages being sent to the right address. Currently, there's at least one family looking for their delivery, and the House alum is trying to help them. Laurie took to Twitter yesterday to try and get some wrongly-delivered gifts to their rightful owner.

It would have been easy to send the parcel back to the post office, but Laurie wanted to make sure the gifts got to their rightful owner. As of right now, there's been no indication that the intended customer has been found, but there's always hope!
