Police Continue Search For Missing 5-Year-Old With Autism

5-year-old Joseph "Joe Clyde" Daniels disappeared from his home in Dickson, Tennessee on the evening of Tuesday, April 3.

Joe Clyde went to bed without incident, but his family discovered he was missing the next morning when they went to wake him for school at 5:20 am. After searching their home for almost an hour, they called the police just before 6:30.

Joe Clyde has autism, and he is non-verbal. According to his family, he did not bring anything with him when he wandered away from home.

Police have revealed that they received a credible tip saying that a boy matching the description was spotted on Wednesday morning on the road, roughly 100 yards from his home.

Volunteers have flocked to help search in such numbers that the police have had to turn some away! When search and rescue dogs assisted, they were able to trail his scent to the edge of a pond. The pond was then drained and searched, and nothing was found.

Joe Clyde was last seen wearing black pajamas with skeletons on them. He is 4 feet tall with weighs 65 pounds. He has blonde hair and blue eyes, and people are being urged to call 1-800-TBI-FIND or the Dickson County Sheriff's Office at 615-446-8041 ext. 0.
