Royal Birth Imminent! Duchess Kate Packs Hospital Bag - Take A Peek Inside To See Surprising Items She Refuses to Leave Home Without

All around the country - and the world - excitement is at a fever pitch over the impending arrival of the third little Cambridge baby. As we dutifully peruse the internet for any signs that the day has finally arrived, many wonder what the Duchess is doing to prepare for the big event.

We can imagine that, like every mother throughout history, Kate is undoubtedly packing a bag to take with her when she heads to the Lindo Wing of St. Mary's Hospital for the birth. (Pictured, below: exterior shot of the Lindo Wing of St.Mary's Hospital, London - set up for the Royal big event)

As we ponder that thought, it's natural to wonder just what a Duchess packs for her at-least-one-day-stay at the posh maternity facility.

Now, thanks to a recent report, we can take a 'peek' inside that Royal bag to see just which items the Duchess can't bear to leave home without - and some of them are pretty surprising!

According to OK! magazine, "Catherine has been packing her bags full of both practical and sentimental items, as she readies herself to give birth."

The same publication reports that the Duchess will not be leaving home without some precious keepsakes given to her by family members for the big day. (Pictured, below: Wiliam, Duke of Cambridge; Prince George; Princess Charlotte; and Kate, Duchess of Cambridge)

Her two little ones, Prince George and Princess Charlotte have, reportedly, lent some of their treasured toys to their mum to remind her of them while she is away.

It's a fine testament to their great love for their mother - not many two and four-year-olds would be willing to part with such cherished items, for even one day!l

But to them, it's worth it. With all the excitement of a new baby, they undoubtedly want to make sure Kate doesn't forget about the two darlings she already has. :-)

"Husband William has also got in on the packing action, picking his wife out one of her favourite Madagascan vanilla aromatherapy kits. The kit reportedly includes candles and a CD of calming music "“ perfect for any expectant mother."

Even the Queen, herself, has bestowed a "˜good luck' gift on her granddaughter-in-law. It is reported that the Monarch's contribution to the Duchess of Cambridge's hospital bag is a "19th-century alabaster cameo pendant," widely believed to be a good luck talisman.

The late Queen Mother, Elizabeth's own mum, will be represented as well. In a very sweet gesture, the Queen has given Kate her "mother's black onyx beads" for good luck. (Pictured, below: Queen Elizabeth and Princess Margaret with their mother, Elizabeth, when the girls were children)

Then there are the more conventional "baby bag" contents: her Kindle full of reading material for her stay at the hospital.

According to OK!, the Duchess has chosen "a selection of Booker Prize-winning authors, meaning Catherine could be reading anything from Julian Barnes' The Sense of an Ending, to 2017's award winner, George Saunders's, Lincoln in the Bardo."

Most experts think the Duchess is due to give birth on or around April 23rd but, as we know, babies tend to arrive in their own time and any attempt to predict exactly when that will be is a fruitless effort. (Pictured, below: excited subjects wait outside the Lindo Wing for news of the newest Royal baby's birth.)

As the days tick by, though, one thing is for sure. The level of excitement across the world is rising and we can hardly wait to meet this sure-to-be-precious third child of the beloved Duke and Duchess of Cambridge. (Pictured, below: Kate and William with their first-born child, Prince George.)

And just how will Kate and William share the news once the baby arrives? Watch the video, below, to find out.
