Now it's Meghan Markle's half-brother who is stepping into the fray that his sister Samantha started shortly after the Royal engagement was announced late last year.
With less than a month to go before the long-awaited wedding, Thomas Markle, Junior has opened up about what Meghan's newfound celebrity has done to his family.
He wants the public to be aware that the royal-to-be is "putting on an act" in order to worm her way into the good graces of Harry's family and the public.
In a revealing new interview, the brother opened up about the sister he knows very well "Meghan likes to portray herself as a humanitarian, a people's person and a charitable person, but she is none of those things to her family."
Speculating that Meghan may be ashamed of the ordinariness of her family and has, consequently, distanced herself from being associated with them.
"There's a whole different side of her that has started to surface and it's ugly to see."
Thomas claims to see right through Meghan's attempt to model herself as the new Diana. "I've read that Meg wants to be like Diana. Diana was worshipped by everyone in the world."
"She was loved for the right reasons," her brother went on. "That's what Meg wants, but I don't think that's going to happen. She's not genuine like Diana."
If that weren't enough, Markle goes on to expose the damage the whole "Harry and Meghan thing" has done to their family.
When sister Samantha started bad-mouthing Meghan's behavior on the heels of her engagement to Prince Harry, Thomas actually stepped in to defend his little sister.
That valiant action had unexpected consequences, leaving the entire family dynamic in shambles. "Trying to put a lid on Samantha and get her to be quiet backfired and started a rift of insults.
It has torn my entire family apart," Thomas went on. "None of us has heard a word from Meg and what with all that has been said no longer do I speak to Samantha or my two sons."
Thomas says he is not bitter about being overlooked tatted the wedding, but he is rather, "baffled' because he and Meghan were once very close.
He added that he's "not bitter, just baffled" at his lack of an invitation to the upcoming royal wedding and called it "hurtful given how close we once were."
We can only hope that, as time goes on, the Markle family finds a way to overcome the obstacles they are encountering as their little sister's fame grows.
It's just a shame that an occasion that is supposed to be filled with so much joy has to be marred by bitter family strife.
