Lizzie was brought into the Animal Rescue League of Iowa"˜s shelter in really rough shape. She hardly even had any hair.

But in a few short weeks, she was adopted by a man named Connor. He and his girlfriend, Alison, had been talking about getting another dog.

He surprised her with little Lizzie saying that they were going to just look at dogs, but in reality, they were going to pick up their new furry family member.

The staff at the shelter was in on it, and Conner had gone to great lengths for this special moment.

He wasn't just surprising her with a dog, though. He was also going to propose!

But first, he introduced Lizzie to Alison.

Then, he goes down on one knee and holds Lizzie while looking up at Alison to pop the question.

She said yes! And then...

She saw the beautiful engagement ring that the staff had tied onto Lizzie's collar.

She said yes again! 😀

Since going home, Lizzie has settled in with her new family and has assumed her place as the couples black lab, Charlie's baby sister.

We have to wonder if the role of flower girl is in her future too.
