Mom's Before-And-After Photos Show What Having Twins Does To The Body After Birth

When it comes to nature's miracles, bringing life into the world has to be the most powerful. I sometimes get overwhelmed by how incredible it is that women give such a gift to the world. I'm not a mother myself, but I can only imagine that feeling a little one grow up in your body before making their debut is a life-changing feeling.

And that goes double for mamas of twins! When you think about the human body, it's amazing that we can carry one child at a time, let alone two, three, or even more. What's a shame, however, is the fact that there's all this pressure after having a baby to get back into "pre-baby shape." What kind of nonsense is that? A woman brings LIFE into the world and the first thing people think about is her weight? That's crazy.

One mom who knows all about what biological motherhood does to the body, mind, and soul (and spoiler alert: it's all beautiful) is Emily Marson. She's the proud mama of twin boys Arthur and Finley. (And I mean, could their names possibly be any cuter? No.)

After a lovely, happy weekend with beloved family members we are now home and all tuckered out from the journey but so full of love from grandad, grandma and our two aunties.

Before we dive into one seriously important message courtesy of this amazing mom, let's all just take a moment to ooh and ahh over how precious the little bundles of joy are. Ready? 3, 2, 1....

Arthur has an interest in his and his brothers hand whilst Finley is more interested in sleep.

We hope you're all having a lovely snowy weekend! We are very happy to announce Finley has caught Arthur up weighing 5lb13oz! Arthur weighing 5lb14oz. Amazing how quickly Finley has gained a whole lb to catch his brother! This making it even more tricky to tell who is who! Finley's head circumference is also nearly there!

Today grandad treated the boys to their Christmas Day outfits and don't they look dapper?!

Okay, back to reality, people. While all of the family's posts on Instagram are amazing, there's one, in particular, that's really gained traction online (and for good reason). You see, this lovely lady isn't worried about looking "perfect" after bringing the two loves of her life into the world. She had a C-section and isn't afraid to show her body to create solidarity between her and other moms out there.

Here's what she said under the amazing photo that's making waves:

Okay, this is quite a personal post but I am now 4 months postpartum and beginning to embrace what my body has become, I've housed two beautiful babies for 36 weeks and breastfed for 5 weeks. My pregnancy wasn't exactly an easy ride these boys wanted to come out early and I was hospitalised a few times because of dehydration and early contractions, our bodies go through a lot, a lot of change and your body is put through an enormous amount and I am so proud of myself that I carried such beautiful children and gave them food, warmth and most importantly all the love that I never thought I had. With a scar that I will have for the rest of my life is a tiny sacrifice for a lifetime of beautiful memories with my family. Your stretch marks DO NOT define you, your scar DOES NOT define you, your flab DOES NOT define you. You are incredible, you are a mother and you are the light of your babies eyes. I wanted to share this to show the reality of our bodies and that it's okay not to be perfect because in their eyes you are exactly that.

Her message is so beyond important. Ladies, if you made the decision to bring a baby into the world, you should be extremely proud. Your body did an incredible thing and should be treated as such, no matter what anyone has to say on the matter. You go, Emily!
