Ingredients

  • 2 cups of finely chopped cucumber
  • ½ a cup of tomatoes
  • ¼ cup of chopped onion
  • ¼ cup of Greek yogurt
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of lime juice
  • 1 ½ teaspoon of lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons of fresh chopped parsley
  • 1 garlic clove
  • 2 chili
  • ¼ teaspoon of ground cumin
  • ¼ teaspoon of sea salt

Preparation

Mix all the ingredients in a larger bowl, leave them for a while, and then serve on whole grain toast.

The second recipe we suggest is known as Sassy Water, in honor of the Prevention nutrition director Cynthia Sass, who created it. This drink is a powerful detoxifying drink that soothes the GI tract, fights stomach bloating, and helps weight loss. Here is how to prepare it:

Sassy Water Recipe

  • 1 medium cucumber, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 1 medium lemon, thinly sliced
  • 12 small spearmint leaves
  • 2 liters water (about 8 ½ cups)
  • 1 teaspoon freshly grated ginger

Directions:

In a larger pitcher, mix all the ingredients listed above, and leave the drink until the next morning for the flavors to blend.
