On Oct 1, thousands of country music fans gathered in Las Vegas for the finale of the Route 91 Harvest festival, but their fun was cut short when Stephen Paddlock fired bullets down on the crowd from the window of the Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino.

The 64-year-old's rampage, which took place during Jason Aldean's closing set, claimed the lives of 59 people and injured 527.

Aldean and other celebrities like Garth Brooks have since opened up about the horrific event, expressing their pain, gratitude for the first responders, and urging the nation to "stop the hate."

Now, days after the senseless tragedy, Aldean's wife Brittany Kerr Aldean spoke out about being a part of the choas.

Kerr Aldean, who is pregnant with her first child, was watching her husband's performance in a tent near the Mandalay when the bullets started raining down.

Of course, the first thing that came to her mind was the fact that she may never get the chance to meet her child. Kerr Aldean took to Instagram to share her sentiments about the experience.

Since Kerr Aldean was close to the stage, she and the "road family" sought refuge behind the equipment as the bullets flew past them.

"All I could think was, "˜I never even got to hold my baby,'" Kerr Aldean wrote. "As you can imagine my first instinct was to run to [Jason] and his was the same."

This is the first time Kerr Aldean is opening up about the tragic night because "it's been hard to process what happened the other night ... still feel like I'm in a daze."

"We all made sure the others knew we loved them and then ran for cover where we stayed for the next couple hours," she continued. "We were the lucky ones. I can't put into words the pain and heartache we feel for the ones who are no longer with us.

The mom-to-be also thanked those who contacted her and Jason to check up on them over the last couple of days.

"Took me a while to be able to write these words ... thank you to everyone who has reached out to Jason and [me] ... Means the world to us," she concluded the note.

As for Jason, he has since cancelled some of his upcoming concerts. "I feel like out of respect for the victims, their families, and out fans, it is the right thing to do."
