The funny man is known for starring in some of the most entertaining movies in the 90s and early 2000s.
But nowadays, Jim Carrey has taken on a completely different persona. Or maybe that's how he's been all along? You'll have to watch the video to be the judge of that.

In 2014, Jim was invited to give a commencement speech at Maharishi University in Fairfield, Iowa.
I'm sure everyone in the crowd was expecting the usual Jim Carrey antics, and he didn't fall short of that, but he offered a few other pieces of advice that stunned the graduating class.
"You didn't think I'd be serious, did ya?" he joked.
By the end of the speech, he received a standing ovation. To be honest, when I finished watching the video, I stood up clapping too.
The wisdom and inspiration he gave those kids is something everyone needs to hear, not just the class of 2014.

1. "Life doesn't happen to you, it happens for you."
The comedy legend believes that everything and everyone in the world is connected.
Don't expect everything you want in life to be handed to you. You must be aware of those doors of opportunities and go after them.
And remember, it's all about the journey, not the destination.

Jim believes that everyone has the ability to choose their own fate.
He wasn't born rich or famous, so he worked hard for it.
As a believer in the power of positive thinking, Jim imagined his life, which ended up manifesting before his eyes.

This part of the speech was my favorite.
"You can spend your whole life imagining ghosts, worrying about the pathway to the future, but all that will ever be is what's happening here. And the decisions we make in this moment, which are either based in love or fear. So many of us choose our paths out of fear disguised as practicality. What we really want is impossible out of reach and ridiculous to expect, so we never dare to ask the universe for it."
Don't be afraid to ask the universe for the things you want! But remember, right when you ask, make sure you put that plan in action.
4. "You can fail at what you don't want, so you might as well take a chance on doing what you love."
He says challenges or obstacles are something you should embrace, not be afraid of.
Take a chance on faith and don't be upset about failing at the things you don't want. That just means you're meant for greater things!
Pursue the things you want in life and eventually you'll reach your goal.
6. "Risk being seen in all of your glory."
Jim emphasizes that you shouldn't be afraid of being in the spotlight.
People are always attracted to the light, so be the light in your own life and in the life of others.
We all possess greatness, it's just a matter of showing it to the world.
