Kate Gosselin On Her "Limited Time Left" With Her Daughters

Today Show

We have all been following the Gosselin family for years now, since the birth of the sextuplets 13-years-ago. Kate and Jon Gosselin let us all into their home to see what it was like to raise not only the six babies, but also their twin daughters who were just a few years older.

The twins, Mady and Cara, are 17 years old now, and their mom Kate has spoken up about the fact that they are about to go off to college.

Kate recently posted a photo of her daughter Mady, mentioning that there is "limited time left at home."

Back in October, Kate revealed that the girls would soon go off to college. She said, "Happy birthday to my girls! My heart hurts because you're almost adults and will soon leave for college, yet it smiles because I am seeing who you've become: brilliant, beautiful, kind, caring, logical, responsible, empathetic, honest, amazing individuals!"

It's hard to believe that after watching them grow up they will soon be heading off to school. The Gosselin household has been full of kids for a long time now and Kate is coming to terms with the fact that her kids are going to grow up and move on. She has been speaking out on what it will be like once all her kids are out of the house...

In a promo for her show Kate Plus 8, she mentions that the thought of her kids moving out is one of her biggest fears. "It's the day I have feared since they were born. To think that when the little kids are in college and my house is empty? I can't fathom it."

However she joked that her household would quickly fill back up "I'll be the crazy cat lady ... except with dogs," she said.

"I've learned not to have any predictions about the next 10 years, because I certainly never thought I'd have wound up here 10 years ago!" she shared. "Given all the drama of our lives, doing a reality show honestly feels like the smallest issue we've ever had to deal with."

People have been curious about how Kate plans to make money after all of her kids move out. Even in 2017, the filming of her show slowed down drastically and only three episodes aired. An inside source spoke to In Touch Weekly about Kate's future and it's a little bit concerning.

"Kate no longer has the income she once had from the show," the insider said. "The money is running out fast."

According to the source, Kate is worried that she will have to turn to ex-husband and father of her children, Jon, to help afford the kids schooling and to continue making enough money. She doesn't want Jon to have any custody over the kids so that is the worst option.

However, for now, she is enjoying the time she has left with her twins before they go off to school, just like any mother would.
