Legendary Musician Found Dead In Los Angeles

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of singer and actor, Cuba Gooding Sr.

The "Everybody Plays the Fool" singer and father of actor Cuba Gooding Jr, was found dead in a car on Thursday in Woodland Hills, Los Angeles.

He was 72-years-old.

According to various media outlets, firefighters responded to a call at 12:58pm PT and found his body slumped over in his silver Jaguar. Unfortunately, efforts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

It is also reported that authorities found empty alcohol containers and drug paraphernalia in the vehicle.

His cause of death is currently under investigation but it is suspected that it may have been an overdose.

The Harlem-born musician rose to fame in the early 1970s when he became the lead singer of R&B band The Main Ingredient. The group went on to release a plethora of hits including Everybody Plays The Fool, Happiness Is Just Around the Bend and Just Don't Want to Be Lonely.

The band eventually broke up in the '80s but Gooding Sr. took on other music-related projects and remained in California with his family. He was often seen at major Hollywood events alongside his famous sons, Cuba and Omar.

Gooding Sr. is survived by his four children and wife Shirley Gooding.

The family has yet to release a statement to address his sudden passing but they're in our thoughts and prayers.

May he rest in peace.
