'Little People, Big World' Star Shuts Down Pregnancy Rumors With Powerful Message

On Wednesday, Little People, Big World star Tori Roloff took to social media to dispel some online rumors.

In an age where gossip seems to spread much faster than the truth, it's something that many reality stars have gotten used to.

But when fans started swarming Tori's profile, asking if she was pregnant, she had to set them straight.

And she made an important point about why these kinds of rumors are not okay.

"What if I was a woman who couldn't get pregnant?"

As Little People fans will remember, Tori and her husband Zach welcomed their first child, Jackson, just last year.

But when Zach's father, Matt, shared a video of Tori on Instagram, fans were convinced they "spotted a baby bump" on the new mom.

This is the video that started all of the fuss:

Many fans speculated that Tori was pregnant in the comments, and others asked her directly if the "news" was true.

When she got tired of all the gossip, Tori posted a message to her fans clearing them up.

"No, I am not pregnant," she wrote. "Yes, I love baggy clothes and food."

She went on to explain to her fans that the pregnancy rumors weren't just annoying or rude - they could have been very hurtful.

"What if I was a woman who couldn't get pregnant? What if I was a [woman] who had body image issues?" she asked.

"Asking a woman if she's pregnant can be extremely damaging."

No I'm not pregnant. Yes I love baggy clothes and food. What if I was a women who couldn't get pregnant? What if I was a women who had body image issues? Asking a woman if she's pregnant can be extremely damaging. Luckily I know when I get asked these questions it's coming from a place of love. I know our fans are eager to see our family grow-as are Zach and I and our families- and you guys just want to see us make more adorable babies like baby j. However I hope you think twice about asking a woman "are you pregnant?" Or "when's the next one coming?" You don't know what's going on behind closed doors in anyone's life. I say this because time and time again I've watched my own friends and family struggle with having a baby and I know how much it hurts every time this question is asked. If I believed the magazine articles written about me I've been pregnant for the last year and a half. If and when Zach and I are blessed with another little one we will share on our own time and in our own way. We love you guys and so appreciate your love and support. No one wants to see baby j be a big brother more than I do but let's wait patiently together! 💙👶🏻 #zandtpartyofthree #storyofzachandtori

Tori says she understands that her fans are asking "from a place of love," but she doesn't want other women to be bombarded with these awkward comments any time someone spots a "baby bump."

"I hope you think twice about asking a woman, 'Are you pregnant?' Or 'when's the next one coming?' You don't know what's going on behind closed doors in anyone's life."

And Tori says this lesson is important to her because she knows women who might be upset by these questions.

"Time and time again I've watched my own friends and family struggle with having a baby and I know how much it hurts every time this question is asked."

So, as Tori told her fans: If she's expecting a second child with Zach, "we will share on our own time and in our own way."

"If you didn't hear it from my mouth, it's probably not true."

Sadly, Tori isn't the only Roloff who has to put up with online rumors and rude fans.

Her sister-in-law, Audrey Roloff, could definitely relate to Tori's recent post.

In August, she was also forced to shut down online rumors that she was expecting a second child with her husband, Jeremy.

In hindsight, it should have been obvious that the story was untrue, because Audrey's daughter, Ember, was only 10 months old when the story broke. But that didn't stop Audrey's fans from believing it, and asking her if the news was true.

"This kind of stuff just makes me realize how much fake news is out there," she wrote on Instagram. "Like what in the world?!"

"Again," she warned her fans, "if you didn't hear it from my mouth... it's probably not true."

Even Zach and Jeremy's father, Matt, took issue with his "fans" on social media earlier this year.

In June, he spoke out about the nasty comments his ex-wife, Amy, had been getting from angry Little People fans.

Online commenters complained that Amy had been acting rude towards Matt and his new girlfriend, Caryn, but Amy said that was just the magic of editing.

Thankfully, Matt took the comments seriously enough to call out Amy's critics on Instagram.

"I'm generally pretty tolerant on my social media as to what I allow [versus] when I delete or ban someone," he explained, "people that have followed me for a while already know I delete comments that use four letter words, vulgarity or just post overly mean and unnecessary comments."

"But my new rule is I'm going to delete people that make unnecessary mean or hateful comments about Amy or any of my family members," he warned.

"I may not catch them every time but if you're an online bully, I'm going to up my effort to remove you."

Sadly, online rumors and mean comments are a fact of life for reality stars, but it seems like the Roloffs know how to handle them!
