Madonna's Son Looks So Grown Up Singing One Of His Mother's Hit Songs

In 2008, Madonna adopted a son, David Banda, from the poverty-stricken southeast African country Malawi.

The "Material Girl" singer, who usually keeps her private life on the low, attracted widespread attention when she showed up at the 2014 Grammy Awards with a then-eight-year-old David in matching outfits.

Aside from their sense of style, Madonna and David have a lot more in common. On multiple occasions, the pop star has taken to social media to share photos and videos of her children, and one thing is for sure: David shares her love for music and dance.

Last year, the "Like a Prayer" singer posted a video of an 11-year-old David singing Journey's Don't Stop Believing while his friend played the piano.

She also shared a video of the pre-teen doing an interpretive dance inspired by his African roots. The proud mom captioned it, "Dance to Mother Earth part 2! Alleluia."

David is now 12 years old and a whole lot taller than when we first saw him. He has also refined his singing skills and there's an adorable video to prove it.

On September 24, Madonna posted a video on Twitter in which David has taken cues from her carpool karaoke stint and belting out a rendition of her 1983 hit "Holiday."

The singer posted the video along with the caption (and lots of emojis), "Go David!! Its your birthday!!! We Gonna Party! Like its your birthday!! Its Time to Celebrate!" [SIC].

So adorable!

Madonna also shared two photos on Instagram wishing David a happy birthday and reminiscing about the days when she used to piggyback him.

"Happy Birthday to My Beautiful baby Boy!!" she wrote in the caption of the first photo. "David Banda!! I wish I could stilll carry you Bapu Style!"

She followed it up with a second photo captioned, "And Now He is 12!! Where does the time go??? We Love You Malawi! @raisingmalawi."

It's unclear if David wants to pursue a career in the music industry, but if he decides to do so we're sure he will find access. After all, he's already proven time and time again that he's taken after his successful mother's performing skills.

He's a triple threat: he can sing, dance and play instruments. Just look at how proud Madonna is as she performs alongside David in the video below:
