Neighbors Outraged As Naked Man Prunes His Bush In Broad Daylight

ABC News

When you move into a district, the chances you'll get along with your neighbors is truly a toss up.

At one end of the spectrum, you may become chummy and invite them to all your dinner parties, or at the other, end up calling the police over their inappropriate behavior.

Sadly, one neighborhood in Stuart, Florida has been up in arms after one of their own has been spotted doing his yard work and walking around his property completely in the nude.

"Have some respect for the neighborhood kids."

"I came out Sunday night to put the trash out, and I look over and he is bent over, winding up his hose, and I'm like that is my view of the neighborhood," neighbor Melissa Ny told ABC News.

"He works on his car, and he does it naked. Everyone has called the police. He is just out there doing his yard work, whatever he needs to do outside, naked."

"Have some respect for the neighborhood kids," added neighbor Charlie Estes. "Kids catch the bus here. It's wrong."

"It is on their property and I know it is legal."

Although they've alerted the Martin County Sheriff's Office of this man's naked antics, deputies initially said there is nothing they can do, because as long as he isn't touching himself inappropriately, he's legally allowed to be naked on his own property.

"I have seen these people actually stand on their front step, buck naked, both of them, and talk to a police officer," Estes recalled. "The sheriff's department told me to turn my head."

But there's one member of the community who isn't bothered by her neighbor's unusual escapades.

"I am not one of those people that have concerns just because it is their way of life," fellow neighbor Molly Merritt added. "It is on their property and I know it is legal."

While the man declined to do an interview with the news outlet alleges he and his family are private people, Ny claims his response is absurd.

"If they are private, why are your privates on display?" she questioned. "That is not private at all. That is very public."

On Wednesday, deputies told Fox News the man was first spotted in the nude in 2015 through his window, but he has only been recently that he decided to "venture outside."

However, authorities added that despite a previous statement, they're in the process of obtaining a warrant to arrest if he continues to expose himself in public.

"We may have a case since he's in the front yard," Martin County Sheriff William Snyder said.
