Actress Mischa Barton Denies Crashing U-Haul Into Building Despite Video Evidence

Actress Mischa Barton is making waves yet again after she denied crashing a U-Haul into an apartment build, despite the evidence of a contradicting video.

Last November, the homeowners' association at The Park Wellington Condos in West Hollywood sued Barton following claims the actress misjudged the height of the carport "before slamming into it and causing nearly $27,000 in damages."

Unfortunately, this isn't the first time The O.C. star has caused controversy, as she's had a long history of legal troubles and the need for psychiatric treatment.

Her downfall started 10 years ago when she was arrested suspicion of driving under the influence, possession of marijuana, and driving without a valid license. She was eventually charged with two misdemeanors: driving without a valid license and a DUI.

In 2009, Barton was put under a 5150 (a code that allows psychiatrist to involuntarily confine a person who they deem a danger to themselves or others) for two weeks after she got into a fight with medical professions during an appointment for a tooth ache.

Then 2010, Barton was sued by her New York landlord after she failed to pay three months of rent, totally to $21,000.

Fast forward 2016, the starlet was seen hysterical by her backyard fence before she was voluntarily taken to the hospital for a mental health evaluation.

"Oh my god, it's over!" Barton was heard screaming. "I feel it, and it's angry!" Barton was also reported to have fallen backwards over the fence, and also rambled on about how "mother is a witch" and "the world is shattering."

Now in present-day, Barton has filed filed legal docs to deny all culpability for her latest debacle.

According to TMZ, it's common in civil cases for defendants to argue they were not at fault, but as seen in the video, Barton is shown to be visibly shaken following the accident.

Originally, Park Wellington tried to put the blame on Barton's former boyfriend, Adam Spaw, since he rented the truck. But since the insurance claim was denied and the damages wouldn't be paid out, they decided to go after Barton, who is "listed as the driver in the police report."
