Mom's Response To Woman in Walmart To Called Her Son "Repulsive" is Brilliant

Being a mom is no easy task. From late nights, to early mornings, teething and tantrums, our days can definitely be a challenge, even when things are running smoothly.

Mothers who have children with special needs are superheros in my eyes. How they manage sometimes blows my mind!

So when people criticize these moms, or any mom for that matter, it really sends a shock to the system.

For one mom, a trip to Walmart with her 2-year-old son, had her shaking with rage as a woman made a comment that no mom wants to hear about their baby.

Dallas Lynn Fowler and her two-year-old son Jameus were standing in line waiting to checkout when Jameus wanted a hug from his mom. Dallas picked up her son for a cuddle, accidentally exposing his stomach.

That's when one of the customers in line piped up with their comments.

See what she said on the next page.

"Why in the world would you let someone do that to him?" the customer said referring to the 2-year-old's colostomy bags lodged in his stomach.

Instead of firing back at the woman, Dallas simply explained that her son's colon did not finish forming and he needed these bags.

"Well I am sorry but I just think that is so "˜repulsing', can you please keep his shirt down?" the woman replied.

The mother simply told the woman to have a good evening and went to another check-out.

Dallas didn't let this experience pass her though. When she got home, she took to Facebook to share her story.

Jameus had been born with the rare Hirschsprung's disease, which means he did not have enough nerves to cause normal bowel movement. He ended up having his first surgery at only two weeks old. He suffered an infection following the operation that caused his bowels to perforate and stool to leak through his body.

This caused Jameus to go into septic shock, which resulted in another surgery. He was then put on life support, and given a colostomy bag all by three weeks old. He had two stomas (or holes) placed in his colon for his colostomy bag.

To date the boy has had over 20 surgeries and even has home dilation twice each day.

"See what that woman doesn't understand is, when my son is healthy, he is no different than any other 2 year old. He runs, plays, swims and goes to daycare," Dallas wrote in her post about the experience.

"Please be kind and choose your words wisely," Dallas wrote. "Everyone is fighting a battle you know nothing about, and my son is winning his."
