City Grieving Morning Show Host Found Dead Just After Christmas

It's never easy to lose a loved one, but Christmas time is the hardest time. It makes the news that shook Glendale Thursday night that much worse.

A TV morning show becomes such a big part of a city. Every citizen wakes up, turns on the TV and grows to love the personalities they see there every morning. We trust the news, rely on the weather, and love to laugh along with their antics.

It's one reason why Glendale is so upset to learn that their beloved KTLA Morning show host, Chris Burrous, was found dead in a Days Inn. He was 43.

Just after 1:00 pm a male friend called paramedics when Burrous passed out and apparently stopped breathing. Paramedics arrived quickly and found the friend trying to resuscitate the TV personality.

Glendale Police Sgt. Dan Suttles gave a briefing to reporters, many of whom knew Burrous. He said that the first responders on the scene immediately recognized Burrous because "everyone knows Chris."

He was pronounced dead at the hospital and his death is being investigated as a possible overdose.

"What we know at this point is that the call came in as a medical emergency, and that's how it was handled," he said.

There was no indication of suicide.

Earlier this month Detroit was rocked by news of the suicide of a popular weatherperson. Jessica Starr was found dead in early December after an apparent suicide. She had been a part of the morning show for years and her death sparked an outpouring of grief.

Burrous leaves behind a wife and a child as well as hundreds of fans.

Our thoughts and prayers will be with his family, forced to endure such a terrible event at Christmas.
