Mother Goose Was Trapped In A Hail Storm, Until A Woman Came To The Rescue

By the month of May, the snow is long gone and many cities have green grass and a few flowers beginning to peep their way up. Unfortunately, this was not the case for a city in Colorado. In early May 2017, a terrible hail storm struck, leaving wildlife and plants at the mercy of the golfball-sized hail stones.

The sad part is most wild animals were nesting around this time, including geese who made their homes in parking lots and side alleys with no overhead shelter. One mother goose refused to leave her unhatched babies to die during the storm, which exposed her to the pelting rain and hail.

Luckily for her, one person noticed that she was huddled in the corner of a raised grassy bed at the side of an office building. What happened next will restore your faith in humanity.

Ryan Anthony Davis, who works in the next-door building, looked out the window during the thick of the storm, and saw something odd.

"Some of us noticed a person standing in the middle of the storm holding an umbrella at an awkward angle," he said, who works in the building next door. "Turns out she was shielding the mama goose from the hail."

"And then, just when you think it couldn't get any nicer, another person comes in to help shield her," wrote Davis.

He captured the scene in a video, and if you look closely, you can see the woman holding a black umbrella in an outstretched arm, leaving herself open to the fierce storm while sheltering the brave mother goose.

Hopefully this will brighten your day: Every year a mama goose makes a nest in one of the planters by our office. We literally just experienced an insane hail storm here in Lakewood. Golfball sized and coming down heavily. Some of us noticed a person standing in the middle of the storm holding an umbrella at an awkward angle. Turns out she was shielding the mama goose from the hail. And then, just when you think it couldn't get any nicer, another person comes in to help shield her. The video has gone viral with over 100,000 views so far, as people couldn't get enough of the selfless act of kindness to nature.

Apparently, this goose has returned to the same spot every year to lay her eggs. Who knows what would've happened if the two strangers hadn't come along? They might have saved this momma and her litter of goslings!
