The women started their botched heist in broad daylight Monday at the Citizens Bank in Tannersville, Pennsylvania.
One woman stood by the door while the other approached the teller's counter brandishing a gun and threatened bank staff. Both wore matching nun's habits, veils and sunglasses. Fortunately, the pair fled the scene without any cash after a teller tripped an alarm.
The suspects are described as a pair of Hispanic females between 5 feet and 5 feet 2 inches tall with medium builds. If you have any information about the robbery you can call the FBI at 215-418-4000.
Incredibly, these nuns aren't the only bank robbers who donned holy robes for a heist. It's become a trend ever since Ben Affleck and Jeremy Renner wore rubber nun masks in their 2010 film The Town.
A pair of bank robbers in Illinois must have been inspired by the film as well, because in 2011 they held up a bank dressed in identical rubber masks and nun outfits. Hopefully the FBI will track down the latest copycats sometime soon.
