It seems as though part of being a celebrity is dealing with unwanted rumors and attention. No matter what you do, people are watching. Even if you don't do anything, people will probably still talk about you.

Mostly, people will share the negative news more than the positive, but over time celebrities learn to filter out all of that white noise and focus on their own lives. But every once and a while a rumor is so insane that it forces them to speak out.

Olivia Newton-John has been a huge star for decades. From her chart-topping hits to her iconic role as Sandy in Grease, Newton John is nothing short of a legend.

But unfortunately in the real world, legends aren't invincible. Newton-John is currently battling cancer for the third time, and while doing so, she's been faced with some outrageous rumors that made her release a new comment to clarify her situation.

News reports came out yesterday that she had merely "weeks to live," but quickly, her representation shot back, saying that these reports were based on a false story from the National Enquirer, and had no truth to them.

Newton-John herself then took to Twitter to share a quick video message to her fans, paraphrasing a famous Mark Twain quote.

"Happy New year everyone! This is Olivia Newton-John, and the rumors of my death have been greatly exaggerated, to quote a very famous quote. I'm doing great and I wanted to wish you all the happiest, healthiest 2019 that's possible. Thank you all for your wonderful love an support for me and for my Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Center in Melbourne, Australia. Thank you so much, Happy New Year!"

Newton-John created her wellness center in 2009, as a way to provide support, breakthrough research, and leading medical treatment to other people in Australia going through cancer treatments.

We're glad to hear that these rumors aren't true, and that Newton-John can continue on fighting her cancer and helping other people do the same!
